☘️💎#780 - 4.05ct Parti 'Pharaoh's Eye' Hexagonal Sapphire.

💎General description : This one is an amazing Sapphire! Deep Greens and teals, surrounding a yellow centralised 'Pharaoh's eye' colour zone.
The rough was almost a complete six sided sapphire crystal with just a few surface chips. I had been hanging onto this one for about six years, and then deciding that it really needed to be faceted to show its full potential.
💖Having finished the Pavilion in a modified hexagon design, I started faceting the Crown, to realise that there was significant silk overlaying and shadowing the yellow 'eye', as well as some shallow surface fractures.
🔥At this point I decided to have the stone heat treated at Rubyvale Gem Gallery.
After picking up the stone, I needed to repolish the pavilion facets, and then complete the Crown. There are bluish, hexagonal colour bands in the crown, which will contain some remnant silk, and then the stone deepens into a fascinating colour play of rich Forest Greens and teal, surrounding the yellow 'eye' zone.
This stone can appear quite dark in dim lighting, and it's delightful mix of color will be more noticeable in ambient outdoor lighting or shade.
