HEXAGONAL SHAPED SAPPHIRES.

The hexagonal shape is one of my favourites for sapphires, representing the natural six-sided crystal. 

One of my most favourite gems is a 'Pharaoh's Eye' sapphire with a yellow central colour zone, surrounded by (most commonly blue).  Being able to find one of these such sapphires, in a natural hexagonal shape, in a good size, is a dream of mine.

There are many hexagonal facet designs for sapphires, and choosing/modifying the right design for individual gems is a joy.
