EMERALD CUT SAPPHIRES

Elegant and Classical Rectangular Sapphires.

The emerald cut is a classic design. 3 (or more) tiers of step cuts on the crown and pavilion, highlighting colour of the gem. Commonly used for emeralds, (as the natural crystal shape of emerald generally suits this shape, for good recovery and colour).
I really love a parti colour sapphire, with distinctive colour zones, faceted in an emerald cut design.
There are many other beautiful rectangular designs, eg rectangular cushions, which can be used to facet similar shaped rough gems.
