ABOUT SHAMROCK GEMS, CINDY KELLY

I am a sole trader, gem facetor/artisan, specializing in Australian sapphires from Central Queensland Sapphire Fields.
Having always been interested in rocks and crystals from a very young age, I study geology at Melbourne University and work in the mineral processing industry for several years. All my spare time was spent travelling and fossicking. I visited the Willows Sapphire area in Central Queensland in 1996 and fell in love with sapphires, and the quiet natural beauty of the land. 
I learnt faceting in 1997, bought a secondhand 'Halls' faceting machine, and was up and running as a local gemcutter, faceting for businesses and tourists alike.
20 years later, and with the advent of the internet and social media platforms, it became easier to sell our beautiful gems to the world. For the last few years I have been focusing my efforts on sourcing top-quality Sapphire rough, faceting customised and traditional designs, and marketing these stones to a wide variety of clients across Australia and the world.
